We are seeking a reliable and adaptable Relief Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing support across various catering functions, ensuring smooth service delivery during staff absences or busy periods. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organisational skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, presentation, and serving to meet quality standards
- Support the team in setting up and clearing catering areas before and after events or service periods
- Ensure all catering equipment and utensils are clean, organised, and stored appropriately
- Provide excellent customer service by attending to guests' needs courteously and promptly
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to maintain a safe working environment
- Support with stock replenishment, inventory checks, and ordering supplies as required
- Adapt to various roles within the catering operation as needed, including assisting with special dietary requirements or event-specific tasks
Requirements
- Previous experience in catering or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Friendly, approachable manner with strong communication skills
- Ability to work flexibly across different shifts, including evenings or weekends if necessary
- Good physical fitness to stand for extended periods and carry out manual tasks when required
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills in a team environment
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
