About the Role
Start Site Services are looking for a reliable and confident Contract Support Administrator to join our team in Walsall. This is a full-time PAYE position supporting the day-to-day running of operations within the construction and temporary welfare sector.
The successful candidate will be office based and will work closely with the Operations Manager and wider team to help manage customer enquiries, support internal processes, maintain accurate records, and assist with the smooth coordination of work.
This role would suit someone with strong communication skills, good problem-solving ability, and a practical understanding of construction sites or site services.
Key Responsibilities
- Answering phone calls and responding to customer enquiries in a professional manner
- Supporting the operations team with day-to-day administration, including producing risk assessments and method statements.
- Processing and updating customer, projects and site information on internal systems
- Using Sage and internal company systems accurately
- Liaising with customers, suppliers, drivers, and site contacts
- Assisting with job coordination and helping ensure works are organised efficiently
- Maintaining accurate records, paperwork, and digital files
- Supporting the team with quotes, orders, bookings, and general support tasks
- Helping resolve customer or operational issues quickly and professionally
- Communicating updates clearly between customers, site teams, and management
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think practically
- Previous office, sales support, or administrative experience
- Good laptop and computer skills
- Experience using Sage, or willingness to learn
- Ability to use internal systems accurately and confidently
- Knowledge or understanding of construction sites
- A full UK driving licence
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A reliable, punctual, and positive approach to work
- Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy office environment
Desirable
- Previous experience in the construction, temporary welfare, hire, logistics, or site services industry
- Experience dealing directly with construction site contacts or contractors
- Experience supporting operations or transport coordination
