Paint Sprayer – Accident Repair Bodyshop

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Paint Sprayer to join a busy and growing accident repair centre based in Luton.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family-run, medium-sized bodyshop that is entering an exciting period of growth. The business has built its reputation around quality workmanship, customer service and high standards of vehicle repair, and is now looking to strengthen its team as it continues to expand.
The bodyshop is BSI accredited and insurance approved, carrying out accident repairs, paintwork, smart repairs and panel replacement for insurance, fleet and private customers. The repair centre uses manufacturer-approved repair methods and places a strong emphasis on achieving a high-quality, factory-standard finish.
The Role
As a Paint Sprayer, you will be responsible for preparing and refinishing accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring every repair is completed to an excellent standard.
You will work closely with Panel Beaters, MET Technicians and the wider bodyshop team to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the repair process and are returned to customers with a professional, high-quality finish.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing vehicles and panels for painting
- Carrying out primer, basecoat and lacquer applications
- Colour matching and blending to achieve a seamless finish
- Painting new and repaired panels
- Preparing surfaces through sanding, masking and preparation
- Carrying out SMART and cosmetic paint repairs where required
- Mixing and preparing paint materials accurately
- Identifying and correcting paint defects
- Ensuring paintwork meets high-quality and manufacturer standards
- Working with a range of vehicle makes and models
- Working alongside Panel Beaters and MET Technicians to meet repair deadlines
- Maintaining a clean and organised paint area
- Following all health, safety and COSHH procedures
- Working efficiently while maintaining excellent attention to detail

About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience as an Automotive Paint Sprayer within an accident repair/bodyshop environment
- Strong experience in vehicle preparation and refinishing
- Excellent colour-matching and blending skills
- Experience with primers, basecoats and clearcoats
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to identify and rectify paint defects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety and COSHH requirements
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining a consistently high standard
Relevant automotive paint qualifications or manufacturer training would be advantageous, although strong practical experience will be considered.
