AYT Foods is looking for a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Sales Assistant to join our team for an immediate start.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced retail environment, can confidently drive sales, and takes initiative. We are looking for an individual who can work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards across customer service, store presentation, and daily operations.
The role includes manual handling and regular movement of stock, so applicants must be comfortable with physical retail duties..
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver excellent customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience
- Actively support and drive sales through customer engagement and product knowledge
- Operate the till and process cash/card transactions accurately
- Restock shelves, rotate products, and maintain stock availability
- Receive deliveries and carry out manual handling and movement of stock safely
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and visual merchandising across the store
- Monitor stock levels and report issues where necessary
- Work efficiently and manage responsibilities independently with limited supervision
- Follow company procedures, health & safety requirements, and operational standards
Requirements:
- Previous sales, retail, or customer-facing experience is essential
- Proven ability to work independently and remain productive with minimal supervision
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling, lifting, and moving stock safely
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high standards consistently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident, proactive, and able to take ownership of tasks
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and customer-first approach
- Flexible and willing to support business needs when required
Working Hours:
- Location:Dunfermline, Fife
- Hours:Monday - Saturday, Minimum of 27 hours per week, 3 - 6 days a week from 10 am to 7 pm. Each shift of more than 6 hours includes a 30 minute unpaid break.
- Opportunity for additional work days based on business needs.
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
