Overview
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter for a short-term contract to support a small renovation project. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in carpentry and related trades, with the ability to work efficiently within a tight deadline. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your craftsmanship skills on diverse tasks, including hanging six fire doors, finish off fitting kitchen units and worktop. Partition a small area to create a lockable cuboard. Fit picture rails to 5 rooms. Fix skirting where needed. fit a lock to understair cupboard. The post is suitable for an individual looking to contribute their expertise on a temporary basis.
Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install wooden frameworks, fixtures, and fittings with precision.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment safely and effectively.
- Perform fabrication of components needed for construction or renovation projects.
- Carry out joinery tasks including fitting doors, and cabinetry.
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to support project timelines.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in carpentry.
- Familiarity with fabrication techniques and assembly processes.
- Proficiency with hand tools (saws, chisels, hammers) and power tools (drills, sanders).
- Knowledge of construction painting, masonry, plumbing, electrical systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work at heights if required.
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites.
- Previous experience working on short-term contracts or project-based roles is desirable but not mandatory.
