About the Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounts payable experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the purchase ledger and supporting the wider finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
- Manage invoice approval workflows and ensure all transactions are appropriately authorised.
- Reconcile supplier accounts and investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare and process supplier payment runs.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and update finance systems as required.
- Complete regular bank reconciliations.
- Respond professionally to internal and external finance queries.
- Raise ad hoc sales invoices and provide support with other finance-related tasks as required.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
· AAT qualified (or be qualified by experience).
· Previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Bookeeping or similar finance role.
· A good understanding of accounting principles and purchase ledger processes.
· Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
· Good communication skills and confidence dealing with colleagues, suppliers, and customers in a professional manner.
· A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn and develop.
· Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
· Experience using finance software; Sage experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
· The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a finance team.
