About us
Charlton House Independent School is a small, non-selective, co-educational Catholic school for children aged between 3 - 11 years. We are situated on the outskirts of the city of Southampton and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional learning opportunities, with a wellbeing focus. The school’s aim is to develop the character and potential of every child. The Catholic ethos, and the stimulating environment the school fosters, aim to ensure that each pupil has an excellent academic and social grounding as they grow into confident, young people.
We are looking for a dedicated Site Manager to join our team and oversee the maintenance and security of the school site.
The Role
You will work closely with senior leaders and manage the day-to-day operation of the site, including planned maintenance, contractor coordination, compliance checks, and ensuring a safe environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
Hours: 32 hours per week - 7am to 2pm each day, some of which can be flexible
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day site management and security
- Health & safety compliance and record keeping
- Overseeing contractors and maintenance schedules
- General repairs, upkeep, and site presentation, including outside areas/grounds
- Supporting school events
Experience and Qualifications
- Proven experience in facilities or site management (school experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of H&S, compliance, and statutory maintenance
- Ability to arrange and manage contractors
- Trade or facilities management qualification desirable
- Holds a full UK driving licence
