Deputy Manager | Southend-on-Sea | 37 hours | £32,439
One to One Personnel are looking for a proactive and supportive Deputy Manager to help lead the day-to-day operations of a busy Day Centre. Working closely with the service Manager and Outreach team, you’ll ensure the service runs safely, smoothly, and in a person‑centred way. You’ll provide strong on‑site leadership, support staff through complex situations, maintain high standards of health and safety, and build positive relationships with partners and the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily Day Centre operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well‑managed environment.
- Lead and support Day Centre Operatives, volunteers, and cleaning staff.
- Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and crisis situations confidently.
- Coordinate partner services, activities, and visitor management.
- Maintain health and safety compliance, building checks, and cleaning standards.
- Oversee donations, stock control, and resource management.
- Monitor service activity, quality, and operational standards.
- Build strong relationships with partners and community stakeholders.
- Provide cross‑cover for outreach services and deputise for the Service Manager when required.
About You
Essential experience:
- Background in support services with people who have multiple or complex needs.
- Experience supervising or managing staff or volunteers.
- Confident handling incidents, safeguarding, and crisis situations.
- Knowledge of health and safety and operational compliance.
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed and psychologically informed practice.
