Anderson Power Generation designs and fabricates power generation and electromechanical equipment. We're looking for a CAD Engineer to join our design team, producing the 3D models and manufacturing drawings that turn our designs into buildable instructions for the workshop and site teams. This role works solely in Autodesk Inventor.
What you'll do
- Produce 3D models and detailed fabrication drawings in Autodesk Inventor for mechanical components, assemblies and structures
- Turn design concepts and customer/site requirements into accurate, manufacturable CAD models and drawings
- Generate and maintain accurate bills of materials (BOMs) from CAD models for procurement and production
- Manage drawings through review, issue and revision control
- Work closely with our Production and Yard/Stores teams to make sure designs are practical to fabricate and assemble
What we're looking for
- Proven experience as a CAD Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer, working solely or predominantly in Autodesk Inventor
- Strong 3D modelling and 2D drawing skills, including assemblies and detailed fabrication drawings
- Understanding of sheet metal, structural steel or fabricated/welded assembly design
- Confident working directly with production and workshop teams to resolve practical design issues
- Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy
Nice to have
- Experience in power generation, generator enclosures, switchgear or similar electromechanical fabrication
- Familiarity with Autodesk Vault or similar PDM/data management tools
- HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
