Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Hair and Beauty Tutor to inspire and educate aspiring beauty professionals. The role is working within an Alternative Provision which caters for learners from KS2 - KS5. Experience within a similar setting will be advantagous. They have either 1 full-time role to offer a professional who is happy to travel across 2 sites, or 2 part-time roles. Areas are Bury and St Helens, so a car would be needed if applying for the full-time role across both sites.
Duties
- Plan and deliver comprehensive lessons on hairdressing, beauty therapy, and related skills, ensuring clarity and engagement for all learners
- Demonstrate practical techniques such as cutting, styling, coloring, skincare treatments, and makeup application with precision
- Assess student progress through observations, assignments, and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback to support improvement
- Maintain a well-organized learning environment with up-to-date training materials and resources
- Communicate effectively with students to understand their individual needs and tailor teaching approaches accordingly
- Support students in preparing for industry certifications and employment opportunities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum content that aligns with industry standards and best practices
Experience
- Proven experience working in the hairdressing or beauty therapy industry, with a strong portfolio of practical skills
- Previous teaching or training experience in a classroom or workshop setting is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills in English to clearly convey technical concepts and motivate learners
- Familiarity with IT tools for lesson planning, presentations, and student assessments
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple classes, schedules, and student records effectively
- Knowledge of industry health and safety standards relevant to hairdressing and beauty treatments
- Additional skills such as plumbing (for salon equipment setup) or other technical expertise are a plus but not essential
