Job Introduction
Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi Skilled Services Engineer to join our dedicated Estates team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional to play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing critical healthcare facilities within a fast paced hospital environment.
Working across a diverse range of mechanical, HVAC, building services and infrastructure systems, you will contribute to the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the hospital's essential services, ensuring high standards of patient care and service delivery are consistently achieved.

What You’ll Do:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, repairs, inspections and testing across a wide range of building services and mechanical plant.

Maintain and troubleshoot critical hospital infrastructure, including HVAC systems, boilers, water systems, BMS, generators, and associated building services equipment.

Apply a multi skilled approach, supporting mechanical, electrical and general building maintenance activities where required.

Interpret technical drawings and schematics to diagnose faults, undertake repairs and support the installation of new equipment.

Work independently to prioritise workloads, respond to reactive maintenance issues and ensure key performance targets are achieved.

Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Health and Safety legislation, COSHH regulations, Permit to Work systems and site procedures.

Work collaboratively with specialist contractors, colleagues and stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient operation of essential healthcare services.

Participate in an on call rota and provide emergency response support to maintain the continuity of critical engineering services.
What You Bring:
-
Recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Building Services Engineering.

Post qualification experience within a healthcare, facilities management, or similar building services environment.

Proven experience in building maintenance, fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and reactive repairs.

Multi skilled engineering capability with the ability to work across mechanical, electrical, and general building services disciplines.

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, compliance requirements, and safe systems of work.

Experience supervising and coordinating maintenance contractors and specialist service providers.

Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to analyse faults and provide effective technical solutions.

Ability to work independently, prioritise workloads, and communicate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders.

Knowledge of Health Technical Memorandums and statutory compliance requirements within healthcare environments.

Experience using CAFM, PDA, or other maintenance management systems.

Previous leadership, mentoring, or team supervision experience.
