The Role
We are looking for a detail-driven Ambulance Drug Bag Technician to join our bank team on a self-employed basis. You will prepare, stock, and audit ambulance drug bags so that when our crews reach a patient, every life-saving medication is present, in date, correctly stored, and ready to go. You will also support our Vehicle Make Ready team at base, helping ensure our ambulances are cleaned, equipped, and prepared for deployment. This is a role where precision genuinely saves lives.
Hours and Pay
- £16.00 per hour
- Bank position: typically 20–40 hours per week, scheduled across Monday to Sunday according to operational demand
- As a bank role, hours are offered flexibly and are not guaranteed; availability will be agreed with you in advance
What You Will Do
- Stock and organise ambulance drug bags with medications, supplies, and equipment to established protocols
- Check expiry dates and storage conditions to safeguard medication safety and efficacy
- Keep accurate inventory records, usage logs, and restocking schedules for compliance and accountability
- Support crews by ensuring drugs and equipment are ready for prompt deployment
- Inspect drug bags regularly for cleanliness, aseptic standards, and deployment readiness
- Follow strict procedures for medication handling, sharps, and infection control
- Support the Vehicle Make Ready team with cleaning, restocking, and preparing ambulances at base
- Work with clinical leads to keep drug lists aligned with current treatment guidelines
- Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Operations Manager
What We Are Looking For
- Experience in a hospital, pharmacy, or emergency medical setting (highly preferred)
- Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with medication administration techniques, including injections (desirable)
- Understanding of triage and patient care workflows (advantageous)
- A full UK driving licence (driving history will be assessed)
- Ability to safely lift and move stock and equipment (with training and support provided)
- Sharp attention to detail and a genuine commitment to patient safety
- The right to work in the United Kingdom; an Enhanced DBS check will be required
