Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Barista/All Rounder. In this role, you will be the friendly face of our small establishment based in a Plant Nursery in Silsoe, crafting delicious beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting various operational tasks. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel valued and eager to return. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food preparation, serving customers while ensuring the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. The core days and hours are Fri, Sat & Sun only. Please don't apply if you can't work weekends, there are no midweek hours available at this time. Due to a village and remote location, own transport is a must.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other speciality drinks with precision and flair
- Engage with customers warmly, taking orders efficiently and delivering excellent service
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches, snacks, or baked goods as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the café or service space
- Manage cash register operations accurately, handling transactions with basic math skills
- Support stock replenishment by monitoring inventory levels and restocking supplies promptly
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers
Requirements
- Previous barista experience is highly desirable, with a passion for coffee and customer service excellence
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices to uphold hygiene regulations
- Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks with attention to detail and quality
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and measuring ingredients
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly within a team-oriented environment
Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15.0 – 25.0 per week
