Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this dynamic role, you will support the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a nurturing and safe environment for children to learn and grow. Your leadership will inspire a team of childcare professionals, promote best practices in early childhood development, and foster strong relationships with families. Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in supervising daily nursery activities, ensuring high standards of care and education are maintained.
- Support the planning and implementation of engaging, age-appropriate learning activities that stimulate development across all areas.
- Lead and motivate a team of childcare practitioners, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to foster professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and safeguarding policies to create a secure environment for children and staff.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, offering updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Assist with staff rota scheduling, training sessions, and maintaining accurate records of attendance and developmental milestones.
- Promote a positive team culture that values teamwork, continuous improvement, and open communication.
- Take on the role of ALN Co-ordinator and liaise with external agencies, parents and carers and other staff to ensure all children are supported.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood education setting.
- Demonstrated management or leadership skills within a childcare environment.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and childcare best practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and colleagues.
- Relevant childcare qualifications such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent.
- Valid driving license is preferred to support transportation needs if required.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to multitask effectively in a lively nursery setting.
