Data & Digital Degree Apprenticeship
Grade: NHS AfC: Band 4
Apprenticeship: 3 years plus End Point Assessment Period
Open to all internal and external candidates. NHS employees should ideally secure manager agreement for a secondment prior to applying as a condition of any offer. This vacancy is advertised on a fixed-term basis for 3 years due to non-recurrent funding, with potential for permanence in the future.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Location: Based at Buckingham Row for a minimum of 3 days per week with required travel to other sites as needed. Remote working supported for 1 day per week, ensuring service needs are met. No on-call requirement.

- Work towards a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Professional Degree.
- Combine paid workplace experience with university-based learning.
- Build specialist knowledge in data analytics, science, visualisation, and digital platforms.
- Apply learning to real NHS challenges and service improvement opportunities.
- Receive protected study time in line with apprenticeship requirements.

- Complete the full Degree Apprenticeship programme, including university attendance, independent study, portfolio development, and assessments.
- Apply academic learning to workplace activities, service improvements, and daily operations.
- Support data collection, validation, cleansing, analysis, and presentation for operational, clinical, and corporate priorities.
- Assist with reports, dashboards, data products, and digital tools under appropriate supervision.
- Work with colleagues to translate user needs into clear outputs and accessible formats.
- Contribute as part of a multidisciplinary team to safe, responsive, and person-centred services.
- Manage workload effectively, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and escalate risks appropriately.
- Communicate professionally with colleagues, managers, patients, carers, university staff, and external partners.
- Maintain accurate records and handle data securely, ethically, and in line with information governance and data protection principles.
- Participate in supervision, appraisal, and ongoing personal development within limits of competence.

You will communicate with your Line Manager, Workplace Mentor, University Tutor, Directorate colleagues, patients, and corporate teams. You must comply with all Trust policies, statutory requirements, health and safety regulations (Health & Safety at Work Act 1974), equality and diversity standards, and information governance procedures.
