ADE Power Ltd is a leading provider of high‑quality power solutions, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke generators and associated systems. We are looking for a hard‑working and motivated Welders Mate to support our Fabrication team. You will assist skilled Fabricators/Welders with the preparation, handling, and assembly of metal components, helping to produce high‑quality acoustic enclosures and associated structures. This role offers an excellent development pathway into welding and fabrication.
- Preparing and organising materials, consumables, and metal components for fabrication.
- Cleaning, grinding, and preparing metal surfaces prior to welding.
- Assisting with the setup, cleaning, and basic maintenance of welding and fabrication equipment.
- Supporting Fabricators/Welders during assembly, including holding, positioning, and aligning components.
- Using basic hand tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Moving and handling materials, including sheet metal and fabricated parts.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
- Following all site health and safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
- Assisting with basic visual checks on fabricated components to support quality standards.
- Supporting general workshop duties as required.
- Previous experience in an engineering, workshop, or fabrication environment (e.g., welding, tacking, grinding, drilling, sheet metal work).
- Ability to safely use hand tools and basic workshop equipment.
- Good awareness of health and safety practices.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and develop fabrication and welding skills.
The working hours for this position are 40 hours per week, from 7am to 4pm, Monday to Thursday and from 7am to 1pm on Friday. The business is closed for Bank Holidays, we also enjoy a shutdown every Christmas until after the New Year.
