Permanent Vacancy – Quality Control Operator

Reporting to: Quality Control Supervisor
Camvac Rockwell Ltd. is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Control Operator to join our Technical Department. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for quality assurance, laboratory testing, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.
As a Quality Control Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and company standards. You will conduct quality inspections and testing activities, maintain accurate records, investigate non-conformances, and support compliance with BRC standards and internal quality procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine quality inspections and laboratory testing in accordance with internal procedures and product specifications.
- Accurately record, analyse, and report quality control results.
- Support production teams by providing timely feedback on coating weight checks and other quality measurements to minimise downtime.
- Assist with customer complaints, non-conformance investigations, and root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance with BRC requirements, including traceability, sample retention, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Identify and report quality issues and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and validation activities.
- Manage non-conforming products in accordance with company procedures.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across quality and production functions.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications
- GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English.
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Manufacturing Operations, Process Technology, or a related discipline.
Desirable Qualifications
- BTEC or NVQ in Science, Engineering, or Manufacturing.
- HACCP Level 2 qualification.
- GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) training.
- Internal Quality or Inspection training.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety training.
Desirable Knowledge
- Understanding of BRCGS Packaging Materials Standards.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Experience within packaging, film manufacturing, or food-contact material environments.
Working Hours
This role operates on a rotating three-shift pattern covering Days, Backs and Nights.
Dayshift – Mon – Thu 07:00 – 15:00
Fri 07:00-11:00
Backshift – Mon – Thu 15:00 – 23:00
Fri 11:00 – 15:00
Nightshift – Mon – Thu 23:00 – 07:00
The successful candidate will be required to work across all shift patterns as part of the rotation schedule.
