Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Holiday Camp Lifeguard to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors at our outdoor swimming facilities during holiday periods. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising swimmers, enforcing safety rules, and providing first aid when necessary. Prior experience in lifeguarding or aquatic safety is essential, along with relevant certifications. Responsibilities
- Monitor swimming areas continuously to ensure the safety of all guests
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to prevent accidents and promote safe behaviour
- Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies, providing first aid or resuscitation as required
- Conduct regular safety checks on pool equipment and surrounding areas
- Assist visitors with pool entry, exit, and general enquiries in a courteous manner
- Maintain cleanliness of the pool area, including deck chairs, walkways, and changing facilities
- Complete incident reports accurately when necessary
- Collaborate with other staff members to organise activities and ensure smooth operation of the camp facilities
Skills
- Valid lifeguard certification recognised by relevant authorities (e.g., RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
- Strong swimming ability with confidence in water rescue techniques
- Excellent observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a focus on guest safety and satisfaction
- Physical fitness to perform rescues and sustain prolonged periods of surveillance
- Previous experience in lifeguarding or aquatic supervision is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates
