Mobile Trailer Technician
- £18.00 – £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
- Monday to Friday – day shift
- Company van provided (fully equipped mobile workshop)
- Fuel fully paid (company fuel card included)
- 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
- No weekend working (occasional overtime or breakdown cover if required)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Trailer Technician to service, maintain, and repair commercial trailers at customer sites. You will work from a fully equipped mobile workshop van, ensuring all trailers are safe, compliant, and roadworthy.
This is a field-based role requiring independence, strong diagnostic ability, and a professional approach to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, and repair trailers at customer locations
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, braking, and structural faults
- Carry out DVSA-compliant inspections and prepare trailers for test standards
- Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, lighting, and couplings
- Attend breakdowns and roadside assistance when required
- Complete job sheets and digital service records accurately
- Maintain tools, stock levels, and cleanliness of mobile workshop
- Communicate professionally with customers on-site
Required Experience
- Experience as a trailer technician, HGV technician, or heavy vehicle mechanic
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of trailer systems (air brakes, electrics, chassis repair)
- Ability to work independently in a mobile role
- Understanding of DVSA roadworthiness standards
- Full UK driving licence required
Desirable Qualifications
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
- IRTEC accreditation
- HGV licence (desirable but not essential)
