If so, we are looking for an Interim Head of Warehouse to join Mayflower Washroom Solutions at our Roman Park site in Coleshill on a 3-month fixed-term contract.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the Head of Warehouse will lead our warehouse operation, ensuring the effective management of people, processes, performance, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring an experienced operational professional who can quickly assess performance, provide clear direction, and drive continuous improvement. You will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective running of the warehouse, while supporting business objectives and delivering excellent service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the warehouse function.
- Lead, coach, and develop warehouse management and operational teams.
- Drive a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure warehouse operations consistently meet service, quality, and productivity targets.
- Develop and implement operational plans to improve efficiency and performance.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and effective stock control processes.
- Lead all health and safety initiatives, ensuring full compliance with legislative and company requirements.
- Manage operational resources effectively to meet changing business demands.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support business performance and customer satisfaction.
- Identify operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support succession planning, employee development, and talent management within the warehouse function.
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience in a senior warehouse, logistics, distribution, or supply chain leadership role.
- Previous experience operating at Head of Warehouse, Distribution Manager, Operations Manager, General Manager, or equivalent level.
- Proven experience leading large teams within a fast-paced operational environment.
- Demonstrable success in driving operational improvements and delivering sustainable performance results.
- Strong experience managing budgets, resources, and operational performance.
- Extensive knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control, and distribution processes.
- A strong track record in health, safety, and compliance management.
- Inspirational leadership and people management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making capability.
- Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Resilient, adaptable, and capable of delivering results in a dynamic environment.
