Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Pub Manager or Management Couple to oversee daily operations of a traditional wet led pub. The ideal candidate/s will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and letting accommodation.
Accommodation is available with this role. You must be able to relocate to Whitby, it is not possible to commute to this position.
This role involves managing staff, ensuring excellent customer experiences, and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness. The successful applicant will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment that encourages team cohesion and customer loyalty.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the pub staff and housekeeping team for our letting accommodation.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage in accordance with safety regulations.
- Develop staff schedules, monitor performance, and provide training to enhance team skills.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, including food safety protocols.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster positive relationships with patrons.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the premises in line with hygiene standards.
- Monitor financial transactions, including cash handling and billing procedures.
Skills
- Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management, ideally within a pub or similar setting.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or team management experience.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanour.
- Ability to motivate staff and foster a positive team environment.
- Experience in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling costs.
