About the Role
We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our friendly pub team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing high-quality homemade food, takes pride in presentation, and has the creativity to develop exciting daily and weekly specials.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our popular Sunday roast service, alongside a menu of traditional pub classics. We are seeking someone who can work independently, work in a small kitchen efficiently, and help drive food sales through innovative menu ideas.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and cook high-quality Sunday roasts and traditional pub meals.
* Produce and serve popular pub classics to a consistently high standard.
* Create and develop daily and weekly specials using seasonal ingredients.
* Manage food preparation and service during busy periods.
* Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and served in accordance with food safety regulations.
* Maintain excellent kitchen hygiene and cleanliness standards.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
* Minimise food waste and maximise profitability.
* Work closely with management to develop menus and promotional food events.
* Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a pub, restaurant, or similar environment.
* Ability to prepare traditional Sunday dinners and classic pub dishes.
* Strong organisational and time-management skills.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of the kitchen.
* Knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP procedures.
* Creative approach to menu planning and specials.
* Reliable, hardworking, and customer-focused.
Desirable Qualifications
* Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
* Experience in stock control and ordering.
* Experience creating seasonal or themed menus.
