Offsite Plant Room Design Engineer
Responsibilities

Produce high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models for packaged offsite-manufactured mechanical and electrical plant rooms.

Create and maintain SolidWorks models, standard parts libraries and product drawings.

Prepare customer approval drawings, production drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs) and as-built documentation.

Produce General Arrangement (GA) and P&ID drawings to support projects from quotation through to manufacture.

Review structural drawings and calculations to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and installation.

Manage engineering change requests and maintain accurate design documentation.

Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to ensure project requirements are met.

Support and deliver engineering projects from concept through to completion.

Prepare technical documentation including datasheets, selection guides, exploded drawings and O&M manuals.

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, product development and design process enhancements.
Knowledge and Skills
-
Proven experience designing mechanical and electrical plant rooms, particularly pipework systems such as process, LTHW, CHW, HWS, BCWS and boiler systems.

Strong SolidWorks CAD experience is essential.

Experience producing manufacturing and fabrication drawings.

Understanding of sheet metal design and general metal fabrication principles.

Knowledge of structural steelwork and electrical systems would be advantageous.

Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems is desirable.

Knowledge of AutoCAD for schematic and P&ID drawings is advantageous.

Experience with Revit modelling would be beneficial.

Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality engineering documentation.

Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Self-motivated, proactive and keen to learn new technologies and processes.
