Chelmsford City Council is recruiting for a Finance and Compliance Officer in its Strategic Housing Service. We are looking for someone with knowledge and experience of housing finance, especially payments to suppliers, rent accounts, and housing benefit.
The role includes the reconciliation and payment of supplier invoices within the contractually agreed timescales and ensure good working relationships are maintained. Liaising with our clients to ensure the council maximises it’s rent collection, consider and agree payment arrangement for rent arrears and make decisions on appropriate enforcement actions on a case-by-case basis. Applicants must be able to demonstrate excellent administrative skills and the ability to work under pressure in what can at times be a challenging but also a very rewarding role.
