Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista Café Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves preparing and serving high-quality beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee and food service, along with strong organisational skills to ensure smooth daily operations. Previous experience in a café setting is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
- Assist customers with their orders in a friendly and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service.
- Handle food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks as required.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the café area, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.
- Ensure food safety standards are adhered to at all times, following health regulations diligently.
- Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure the café is fully equipped during operating hours.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient service delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a barista or in food service is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided for suitable candidates.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is advantageous.
- Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy.
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
- Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods.
- Excellent organisational skills to keep the workspace tidy and well-stocked.
- Friendly attitude with good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork.
