We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging French Teacher / Supervisor to run a weekly after-school French Club at a primary school in West Malling, Kent (ME19 postcode area). This role offers children the opportunity to discover the French language through fun, interactive activities while developing confidence in speaking, listening, and basic conversational skills in a supportive learning environment.
The club runs weekly from September onwards, Tuesdays, 3:15pm – 4:15pm (1 hour per week).
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a small group of primary-aged children in engaging, beginner-friendly French sessions.
- Plan and deliver enjoyable, age-appropriate activities that develop vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, and speaking skills.
- Encourage confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning a new language through games, songs, stories, and interactive activities.
- Communicate effectively with school staff and, where appropriate, parents regarding children's participation and progress.
- Ensure all teaching resources and the classroom are organised, safe, and prepared for each session.
Experience & Skills
- Experience teaching French to children in schools, clubs, tutoring, or similar educational settings.
- Ability to inspire and motivate young learners in a structured yet fun and engaging environment.
- Strong English communication skills for working effectively with children, staff, and parents.
- A background in French language teaching, modern languages, or education is highly desirable.
Pay: £30.00 per hour
