Tyre Technician / Tyre FitterAbout the role
Wheelbase is looking for an experienced and highly capable Tyre Technician to join its professional fitting team.
This is not a typical tyre-fitting environment. The majority of the work involves fitting brand-new tyres to brand-new alloy wheels using high-quality, modern equipment. Our workshop is clean, well organised and designed to provide technicians with the best possible working environment.
Wheelbase technicians operate to a higher standard. Quality, accuracy and attention to detail are essential, with every job completed according to our “Right First Time” principle. Our customers invest in premium wheels and tyres, so every item must be handled with exceptional care and fitted correctly without damage, avoidable marks or unnecessary rework.
This role would suit an experienced technician who takes genuine pride in their work and wants to be part of a skilled, high-performing team.
Key responsibilities
- Fit brand-new tyres to alloy wheels accurately and efficiently
- Remove and replace wheels and tyres using modern, specialist equipment
- Balance wheels precisely to ensure a smooth and safe driving experience
- Handle new and premium alloy wheels carefully to prevent damage or marking
- Inspect tyres, wheels and completed work to identify any defects or concerns
- Complete every job to Wheelbase’s “Right First Time” standard
- Carry out final quality checks before wheels and tyres are released
- Follow safe working practices and use all equipment correctly
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional working environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet daily quality and productivity expectations
What we are looking for
- Previous professional tyre-fitting experience is strongly preferred
- A high level of technical competence and confidence using tyre-fitting and wheel-balancing equipment
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work efficiently without compromising quality
- A careful and respectful approach when handling new and premium products
- Pride in producing consistently high-quality work
- A dependable, positive and team-focused attitude
- Good awareness of workshop health and safety requirements
- Physical fitness and the ability to safely handle wheels and tyres throughout the working day
Working pattern
Saturday working is a requirement of this position. Applicants must therefore be available to work Saturdays as part of their normal working pattern.

Pay: £25,420.00-£40,049.55 per year
