Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter / Cleaner to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting the culinary team to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced setting within the hospitality industry. This position offers valuable experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and customer service.
Duties
- Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen staff
- Maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including floors, work surfaces, and storage spaces
- Organising and storing clean items appropriately for easy access during service
- Supporting the team with waste disposal and recycling procedures
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Assisting with stock organisation and inventory checks as required
- Supporting front-of-house staff with serving or other hospitality duties when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is desirable
- Familiarity with health and safety standards within a kitchen setting is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or early mornings as required
