An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 UK NMC Registered Nurse to work as part of the Hospital Palliative Care Service working alongside a team of Clinical Nurse Specialists in the established Hospital Palliative Care Team covering Perth Royal Infirmary and Ninewells Hospital.
The post will be primarily based at Cornhill Macmillan Centre but will require the successful applicant to be flexible in response to service needs.
Applicants should be first level nurses with extensive post registration clinical experience and educated to degree level within a relevant field of practice. Applicants must also provide evidence of ongoing personal and professional development.
The role of the Clinical Nurse Specialist in Palliative Care is to provide expertise and influence patient care by exercising high levels of judgement and decision making to influence clinical care. The primary function of the Clinical Nurse Specialist is to bring the highest standards of care to patients and their families through a variety of means. This encompasses advancing clinical practice, providing consultation for healthcare professionals, teaching, providing clinical leadership and contributing to research findings.
The post holder will work collaboratively with colleagues across Tayside to enhance the delivery of services; will be responsible for supporting and influencing change, acting as a professional resource as well as providing advice and recommendations for service improvement.
Applicants must be registered on Sub-part 1: RN1 or RNA or Sub-part 2: RN2 of the UK NMC.
