Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Tutor to support young adults with diverse learning needs. The successful candidates will work closely with SU to enhance their social skills, confidence, and overall development through personalised tutoring sessions. Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored tutoring sessions focused on social skills development and behavioural support
- Create engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote communication, cooperation, and confidence
- Assess individual student needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Support children in overcoming social challenges within educational and community settings
- Maintain clear records of progress and communicate effectively with parents, carers, and educational professionals
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment conducive to learning and personal growth
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop programmes that meet the specific needs of each person.
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably within special education or working with people with additional needs
- Strong understanding of social development and behavioural management strategies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with service users, parents, and colleagues
- Experience in designing engaging educational activities tailored to individual learning styles
- Prior experience working with children who have special educational needs is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- A genuine passion for supporting service users personal development and fostering positive social interactions
Pay: £12.70 per hour
