Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of goods, primarily using grab lorries, across designated routes. The position is full-time and involves working on a variety of delivery routes, ensuring timely and secure transportation of materials.
Duties
- Operate HGV Class 2 grab lorries in compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods safely, ensuring proper securing of cargo during transit
- Conduct daily vehicle checks, including inspections of brakes, tyres, lights, and load security equipment
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Deliver goods to various locations in a professional manner, maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
- Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management
- Assist with loading or unloading when required, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably with grab or tipper lorrys
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving
- Ability to operate grab lorries safely and securely
- Good organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Strong communication skills and professional attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
