Home‑School Tutoring Sussex & Kent is an established tuition business with a strong reputation for high standards, meaningful pupil relationships, and a genuine commitment to safeguarding.
We are seeking a self-employed Teaching Assistant to support small groups of KS3 and KS4 pupils in Bexhill, working alongside an experienced tutor. This is a face‑to‑face, in‑person role delivered across four mornings per week, providing structured support to learners who require additional help to engage positively with education.
Hours & Groups
- Monday: KS4 group
- Wednesday: KS4 group
- Tuesday: KS3 group
- Thursday: KS3 group
- All sessions delivered in person in Bexhill
Responsibilities
- Support small KS3 and KS4 groups alongside a tutor
- Reinforce learning objectives and help pupils stay engaged
- Provide calm, consistent support for pupils with SEND/SEMH needs
- Encourage positive routines, confidence, and motivation
- Maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding procedures
- Communicate effectively with the Area Advisor and wider AP team
Requirements
Applicants MUST:
- Be SEN and SEMH‑informed
- Have experience supporting pupils in KS3 and/or KS4
- Have a current Enhanced DBS (or be willing to obtain one)
- Be prepared to deliver in‑person, face‑to‑face support
- Provide professional references and safeguarding documentation
- Be reliable, consistent, and confident working independently
- Follow Local Authority safeguarding processesPreferred Experience:
- Experience supporting complex learning and behavioural needs
- 2 years teaching or tutoring
