Baylis Community Media CIC is looking for an ambitious and talented news reporter to join our busy team.
We are an award-winning multi-media organisation publishing three weekly newspapers – the Maidenhead Advertiser, Henley Standard and Slough and Windsor Express – alongside our growing websites and busy social media channels.
Baylis Community Media CIC is one of the few truly independent newspaper publishers left in the country. Our communities and trusted public-interest journalism are at the heart of everything we do.
As a news reporter, you will have the opportunity to cover everything from breaking news and court cases to human-interest features, in-depth interviews and more.
Our patch is one of the most rewarding and varied in the country. You will have the chance to cover royal events and stories of international significance, hold authorities to account and report on stories that make national headlines.
You will play a key role in our ambitious plans for digital growth, using social media, newsletters and digital tools to engage with our audiences. You'll also help us grow subscriptions by producing the journalism our readers want to read, when they want to read it.
This role is particularly suited to an ambitious trainee reporter looking to establish themselves in the industry.
You will be given the chance to develop your multi-media skills and offered training and support as you work towards your senior qualifications.
An NCTJ pre-entry certificate (or equivalent), including 100wpm shorthand, is required. The successful candidate must have a car and a clean driving licence.
We offer a flexible hybrid working model, including three days a week in our offices in Maidenhead or Henley.
