About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Outreach and Public Engagement with Research, you will work closely and collaboratively with members of the University's access and outreach community, researchers in the Department of Chemistry, and colleagues across the wider University to plan, coordinate and deliver our outreach and public engagement programmes.
Working as part of the Department's Outreach and Public Engagement Team, you will contribute to a portfolio of programmes that inspire young people, support researchers to engage with schools and communities, and showcase world-leading chemical sciences research. The role involves working with schools, researchers and a wide range of internal and external partners to deliver high-quality outreach and public engagement activities.
This is a full-time, fixed-term post until 31 October 2027, with an anticipated start date of 1 October 2026.

About You
You will be a highly organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills and an enthusiasm for access and outreach work. You will have experience of planning, coordinating and delivering activities or projects involving multiple stakeholders, and be confident managing competing priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
You will enjoy working collaboratively with researchers, schools, colleges and external partners, and be enthusiastic about supporting researchers and ambassadors to develop and deliver engaging outreach activities. As the role involves working with schools, there is a requirement to work flexible hours at times of delivery.
