About the role:
We are looking for a friendly, confident person to join our veterinary reception team.
Most often the first point of contact for a client, our reception team create the first impression of our practice and must be able to build an excellent rapport with our clients. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task in a busy environment and have the ability to work and adapt under pressure, being efficient, empathetic, courteous, and helpful to all clients under all conditions at all times.
You must be proactive, enthusiastic and have a passion for customer service (and of course animals!)
Whilst we'd love to hear from applicants with receptionist experience in a veterinary environment, this isn't essential and full training will be given to the right candidate. You should have experience working in a customer / client facing role in a busy environment.
Effective communication, computer literacy, numeracy and time management skills are all essential, as is the ability to remain calm in a busy environment and whilst dealing with emergencies. Additionally, being able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and using your own initiative is essential.
We are either looking for 2 applicants working 24 hours per week (both to be contracted Monday) or 1 full time applicant working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Please make it clear on your application if you are applying for a full or part-time position and if part-time, any days you are not available to be contracted.
The role has a variety of shifts between 8.15am and 7pm and you must be fully flexible within our hours of business . You'll also be expected to take an equal share of the Saturday rota (currently 1:4 8.30am-1pm approx) in addition to your weekday hours.
Your average day at Morris & Plumley could include:
Greeting and welcoming clients and patients.
Answering phone calls and email enquiries appropriately.
Scheduling appointments.
Monitoring and managing wait times.
Taking payments at the time of treatment.
Assisting clients with invoice queries and insurance claims.
Keeping reception and the waiting room area tidy, clean and well organised.
Cashing up at the end of the day.
