We’re looking for a friendly, customer focused person to become a Water Babies teacher, delivering our award winning lessons to 0-5 year olds.
You don’t need to have any previous swimming teaching experience, full training will be given, but you do need two years experience in a customer facing role, a full driving licence, access to a car and to be happy working a day at the weekend. There is also a requirement for a week away from home as part of the training for the role.
The position would suit someone from a retail, customer service or childcare background or someone with previous experience teaching or coaching sport.
Due to some of the training required for the role, applicants must be over 18.
Being a Water Babies teacher is a demanding job, but you get so much back from it in return. It's hard to beat the joy of seeing a child take their first swimming steps and learn a skill that could save their life.
Rates of pay are £18.50 during the week and £21.00 per hour at the weekend, typical teachers have a 4-9 hour week across 1-3 days, during school term time, consisting of a large weekend shift and a couple of smaller weekday shifts. We're looking for someone to take on a Saturday in Hilton (DE65) and potentially a Thursday morning in Barton under Needwood and evening in Stretton, although the Thursday classes are optional.
Responsibilities
- Lead customers and their children in weekly swimming classes, delivering the highest quality of tuition in line with Water Babies' standards.
- Create engaging lesson plans tailored to various age groups and skill levels.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and guardians.
- Maintain a safe and clean swimming environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns from parents.
- Drive to different locations as needed for lessons and events.
