An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Tissue Viability and Wound Clinic Service as a Band 3 Healthcare Assistant.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated wound clinic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support the delivery of specialist wound care services while developing your knowledge and skills within a supportive clinical environment.
Working within our Wound Clinic Service, you will provide direct patient care, support registered nurses in clinic delivery and contribute to the smooth running of our clinics. You will work with patients who have a variety of wound care needs, helping to deliver safe, effective and patient-centred care.
Training and support will be provided to develop clinical competencies in wound care, patient observations and pressure area care.
You will need to be flexible as the wound clinics operate 7 days a week.
The successful applicant will support the delivery of high-quality care within the Wound Clinic Service and work closely with registered nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering delegated aspects of patient care within clinic settings.
Assisting registered nurses with the assessment, planning and delivery of patient care.
Undertaking clinical competencies including wound care, patient observations and pressure area care following appropriate training.
Monitoring patients and reporting any changes or concerns to registered practitioners.
Providing health promotion advice relating to nutrition, diabetes, continence, falls prevention and tissue viability.
Supporting the organisation and smooth running of wound clinics.
Maintaining accurate electronic patient records and clinical documentation.
Ensuring clinical environments are clean, safe and appropriately stocked.
Supporting patients to maintain independence, dignity and wellbeing.
Working collaboratively with colleagues and other services to ensure seamless delivery of care.
Supporting new staff members and students within the team.
As a lone worker within the clinic environment, you will be expected to recognise situations where advice and support should be sought from senior members of the team.
