Key Responsibilities
- Promote the work of the College and participate in the recruitment, selection and induction of students

Lead at programme level in areas of academic expertise, accepting responsibility for the overall development and effective and efficient operation of such programmes

Responsible for the line management of the Lecturers, as deemed appropriate. Ensuring staff are deployed effectively and operate within the programme framework.

Oversee the effective design and planning of the curriculum, including preparation of own teaching and learning materials and course documentation
- Oversee the work placement requirements of the programme, working with early year providers to ensure a suitable range of placement opportunities

Provide support to individual students and groups of students, in accordance with UK Graduate Hill procedures, referring students to further support services as appropriate.

Effectively oversee the welfare, progress, examination and assessment of trainees

Lead on the curriculum development of the Early Years Education areas academic programmes

Seek to enhance the quality of education and provision by ensuring that high standards of teaching and learning are maintained on courses to which they contribute

develop, as required, appropriate documentation in accordance with the Institutions guidelines to support the processes of the Colleges quality assurance (including materials relating to course approval, enhancement process, review and evaluation)

Use learning and teaching strategies that encourage student involvement and advance their independent learning

Ensure appropriate staff development within the department enabling the team to work to full potential to meet the needs of expanding portfolios across the College

Organise and administer tasks in an efficient and effective manner

Contribute effectively to the subject area in a chosen area of research and/or scholarly development with support and assistance from colleagues as required

Carry out any other duties associated with the area, as requested by the line manage
Corporate Responsibilities

Participate in the Colleges decision-making process
- Contribute to and serve as appropriate on internal committees, working and advisory groups
- Contribute to the fulfilment of the Colleges Mission Statement and Strategic Plan by implementing agreed College policy
- Encourage and promote the generation of income including the provision of research and consultancy
- Promote and implement the Institutions equal opportunities policies
