Level 3 Learning Support Assistant – SEN & Complex Needs
SENDSTAFF is seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Level 3 Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive specialist school from September 2026.
This rewarding role involves supporting children and young people with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and complex learning needs, helping them to access education, develop independence and achieve their individual goals.

The Role
As a Level 3 Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN and complex needs.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and social development.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
- Assist with sensory activities and personalised learning programmes.
- Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Where required, support pupils with personal care, mobility and medical needs in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to review meetings.
We Are Looking For Someone Who Has
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Learning Support or Childcare qualification (essential).
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, including complex learning needs.
- Knowledge of conditions such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties (SLD) or profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD).
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine commitment to helping every child achieve their potential.
Desirable
- Experience working within a specialist school, resource base or alternative provision.
- Team Teach or other positive behaviour management training.
- Makaton, PECS or other alternative communication experience.
- Moving and Handling or personal care experience.
