Housekeeping Assistant (Laundry & Domestic)
Location: Alexandra Lodge Care Home, Manchester
Hours: 30 hours, 8 hours per day with 30 mins unpaid break. 4 days per week. 4 week rolling rota. Option of 8am-4pm / 9am-5pm.
Pay: £12.71 to £13.21
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Housekeeping Assistant to join our team at Alexandra Lodge Care Home. This role is focused on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and managing laundry services to support the wellbeing and dignity of our residents.
Responsibilities:
- Clean and tidy designated areas, including but not limited to bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas
- Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
- Vacuum carpets and sweep floors
- Mop and sanitize hard surface floors
- Change bed linens and towels
- Replenish supplies such as toiletries and cleaning products
- Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, and distributing residents’ clothing
- Dispose of trash and recyclables properly
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor
- Follow all health and safety regulations
Skills:
- Attention to detail: Ability to notice small details and ensure thorough cleaning of all areas
- Time management: Efficiently complete tasks within designated timeframes
- Physical stamina: Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move for extended periods of time
- Communication skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Integrity: Trustworthy and reliable in handling confidential information and belongings
