HGV Class 1 Driver (Plant Experience)
Location: Leeds
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 OTE
Hours: Mon - Fri (07:00am - 16:30pm)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driver with plant experience to join our expanding team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe delivery, collection, loading, and unloading of plant machinery—including excavators, dumpers, rollers, and other equipment—across [region/UK].
This is a hands-on position that combines driving expertise with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a Class 1 (C+E) vehicle in full compliance with road transport and safety regulations
- Safely load and unload plant machinery using correct procedures and equipment
- Conduct thorough vehicle and load checks before and after each journey
- Deliver and collect plant equipment from a variety of customer sites in a timely and professional manner
- Accurately complete all delivery and collection paperwork
- Maintain clear communication with the transport team and customers
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence
- Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Proven experience transporting plant machinery (e.g. excavators, dumpers, rollers)
- Strong understanding of safe loading and securing procedures
- Good communication and customer service skills
- A professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach
Desirable:
- CPCS/NPORS or relevant plant operation certification
- Experience operating plant machinery
