We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established company based in Thetford. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative to join their busy warehouse and logistics team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional that enjoys a varied, hands-on role within a warehouse environment.
Permanent Position: Monday to Friday 3:00am to 12:00pm (1 hour break).
Pay: £14.00 an hour
The Role
As a Warehouse Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of goods throughout the business. Working across Goods In, Stock Management and Despatch, you'll help maintain accurate inventory, and ensure customer orders are delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking orders from pick lists to required deadlines to meet vehicle loading times
- Load and unload vehicles safely
- Replenishing stock to ensure inventories are always full
- Meeting picking speed and efficiency targets as specified by Supervisors
- Keeping the warehouse environment clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Following workplace health and safety rules when handling goods
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, proactive and enjoys working as part of a team. You will ideally have at least one years experience working within a busy warehouse or retail environment.
Essential Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work while standing for long hours and consistently lift at least 20 kg safely
- Excellent team-working skills to effectively collaborate with other members of a warehouse team
- The ability to work effectively under limited supervision
Desirable
- Reach Truck or additional FLT licences
- Basic IT skills and confidence using computer systems
