Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic culinary team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen environment, ensuring smooth operations and high standards of hygiene. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a professional hospitality setting. Previous experience in food preparation or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to uphold hygiene standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen team.
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas within the kitchen.
- Support the organisation of stock and ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies.
- Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure recycling procedures are followed.
- Assist with setting up dining areas before service and clearing after service concludes.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Experience in food preparation or working within a restaurant or hotel environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting heavy items when necessary.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within the hospitality sector.
