We are currently looking to recruit an experienced person with good DIY and and general maintenance skills to assist in providing a repair service moving between our retail Shops and the main Bakery based in Helmsley. The role will be based in Helmsley. Full training will be given, however a general engineering understanding would be of benefit. A full and ideally clean driving licence is needed in order to travel between Shops in the maintenance vehicle. The ideal candidate will live within around 30 minutes travel time of Helmsley.
Normal start time would be around 07:00 am with a finish time of around 4:00pm over 5 full days or 4 full days and two half days. There would be a need to assist with movement of Shop equipment outside normal trading hours on some occasions which could include some early starts or late finishes. The working week is normally Monday to Saturday but includes a Saturday off rota. Overtime is regularly available to help increase earnings. Includes 22 days paid holiday plus paid Bank Holidays.
Duties would include basic plumbing, mechanical and DIY type tasks such as lock repairs, simple decorative repairs, filter cleaning and changes etc. It would also include the need to gather and maintain statutory information including basic safety checks such as fire alarm testing and associated fire safety equipment.
The successful candidate will need to be able to effectively communicate with both the Shop managers and external contractors to ensure that repairs are dealt with quickly and cost effectively.
You would be part of a small friendly engineering team working from a well equipped maintenance workshop working under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager to ensuring that the Shops and Bakery are effectively maintained to a high standard.
