We're recruiting two part-time Housing Workers to support customers living in temporary accommodation at Griffin Place. This is a fixed-site role, based entirely at Griffin Place, with a choice of weekend day shifts (8am-4pm) or evening shifts (2.30pm-10.30pm).
Working weekends, you'll often be the first point of contact for customers and play a vital role in helping people maintain their accommodation and move towards a more secure future.
You’ll play a key part in helping customers sustain their accommodation, understand their responsibilities, and prepare to move on to a settled home. You'll be adaptable in your approach, working with customers at a pace and time that helps them engage and achieve positive outcomes.
You'll build strong relationships with local agencies, community groups and support services, connecting customers with opportunities, advice and networks that support their journey towards a settled home and greater independence.
What you’ll be doing
- Building positive, professional relationships with customers living in temporary accommodation.
- Helping customers understand their licence conditions, manage their rent and sustain their accommodation.
- Completing and maintaining accurate records, including:
- Supporting customers with grant and charity support forms
- Lettings, relets and end‑of‑licence processes
- Raising and tracking repairs
- Accurate documentation of conversations and actions
- Liaising with internal teams and partner agencies
- Using IT systems confidently to update records and manage your caseload.
- Having clear, constructive conversations that help customers make informed choices and move towards independence.
Please note: this role focuses on housing management, tenancy sustainment and customer coaching. It does not involve personal care, cooking, cleaning or other traditional support-worker duties.
Who we’re looking for
Someone who:
- Can build rapport and communicate clearly.
- Is organised, reliable and able to manage their own workload.
- Is confident using IT systems and following processes.
- Is comfortable having honest conversations and setting boundaries.
- Could bring experience from areas such as:
- Citizens Advice / advice services
- Income maximisation or welfare benefits
- Housing or tenancy management
- Customer service involving vulnerable or complex situations
- Charities, community organisations or case management roles
