Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Kitchen Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our busy culinary environment. As a Kitchen Shift Leader, you will be responsible for supervising team members, ensuring food safety standards are upheld, and maintaining a smooth workflow during your shift. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff during your designated shift to ensure efficient operation.
- Oversee food production, ensuring quality standards and consistency are maintained throughout service.
- Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, setting an example for team members.
- Manage the organisation of ingredients, supplies, and equipment to optimise workflow.
- Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Support team management by providing guidance, training, and motivation to staff members.
- Monitor customer service levels during service times, ensuring a positive dining experience.
- Collaborate with other departments such as front-of-house to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Handle any operational issues promptly and effectively to minimise disruptions.
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a food production or hospitality environment.
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations.
- Experience in team management, demonstrating leadership qualities and the ability to motivate others.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Previous restaurant or catering experience is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hospitality services such as serving customers and managing busy shifts is advantageous.
- A proactive approach with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
Pay: Up to £13.41 per hour
