Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic Depot Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our hire division in Stirling, Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing the very best level of service to our customers.
Please note that it is our ambition to move the depot from Stirling to the Glasgow area in the coming year or two.
You'll be overseeing and aiding the processes for preparation of hire equipment, completing repairs and maintaining high standards that match the quality of our equipment.
Working with customers to organise delivery of signals to sites or depots in a timely manner, then managing the hire through to completion. This may include battery exchanges, call out to repairs and more, completing relevant system paperwork throughout.
Liaising with customers on new and existing hires, responding to requests where required for customer-owned equipment.
This role requires strong organisational skills, a positive attitude to supporting hires. The Depot Supervisor will play a key role in maintaining high standards of service and overall depot performance.
Responsibilities
- Working with both the Professional Services, hire, commercial and engineering teams to ensure best practice and adherence to processes that ensure quality service delivery to customers.
- Maintaining strong working relationships with your colleagues in other regions, and our customers.
- Management of hire fleet stock levels and communicating requirements, including liaison with hire Manager and other depot supervisors.
- Ensuring fleet equipment is prepared for deployment in a timely manner.
- Repair and refurbishment of fleet hire equipment.
- Maintain and service fleet when returned. Documenting accurately any damages
in a timely manner.
- To complete all documentation in relation to daily activities, stock, and fleet preparation.
- Visits to customer depots for inspection/maintenance of equipment.
- You will liaise with customers, authorities etc to organise hire and maintenance of our equipment to ensure a successful hire.
- You will liaise with the customer and our Professional Services team to arrange changes to the system as works on site progress, ensuring equipment and deployment is completed to the agreed design.
- Attendance on site where required to complete installation of equipment to the designated scheme design, ensuring safe practice throughout. *Will involve out of hours work.
- Ensure colleagues preparing and delivering equipment adhere to all processes and best practice.
- Perform audits of installation personnel, the vehicles and our sites to ensure compliance to quality and health and safety standards. Ensuring completion of documented reports and submittal to the hire manager.
- Work with both Professional Services and Commercial/Hire teams to develop our products, quality of service and delivery.
- Work with Professional Services Manager, Hire Manager and Training Manager to formulate and document the processes for successful preparation of equipment between hires, successful preparation of equipment for a hire and then installation, maintenance and deinstallation of said equipment.
- Communicating to customer, all costs associated with their hire.
- Assist the commercial team with development of new relationships and new business where possible.
- Provide Support to commercial team in relation to trials and demonstrations.
- Ensure depots and company vehicles are tidy and to 5S standards.
- Monitor, control and improve depot operating efficiency.
Skills
- Must have a full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points
- Educated to GCSE or A level standard
- Able to use paperless technology to complete work forms
- Able to maintain customer relationships
- Interest in traffic signalling products
- Highways maintenance/installation experience (preferred)
- Lantra/CSCS trained (preferred)
- Willing to work out of hours on a regular basis, and take part in an on-call rota (all paid).
