CHEF DE PARTIEFosseway Garden Centre
Love being a chef, but ready to get your evenings back?
We’re looking for a passionate and motivated Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Fosseway Garden Centre.
This is a great opportunity for a chef who takes genuine pride in their food, enjoys working with fresh ingredients and wants to be part of a busy, quality-driven kitchen — without the late nights traditionally associated with hospitality.
A Chef Job With a Difference
Our restaurants are busy, vibrant and food-led, serving everything from freshly cooked breakfasts and lunches to seasonal specials, traditional favourites, afternoon treats and our ever-popular Sunday roasts.
You’ll still experience the buzz and satisfaction of a professional kitchen — but with daytime working hours and a lifestyle that gives you your evenings back.
And when much of hospitality is at its busiest, we believe our teams deserve time with their families too.
We are closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Easter Sunday.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Chef de Partie, you’ll be an important part of the kitchen team, taking ownership of your section and helping us deliver consistently excellent food every day.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to a consistently high standard
- Working across breakfast, lunch, hot kitchen, deli and seasonal food offers
- Taking ownership of your section and ensuring it is organised and ready for service
- Cooking confidently during busy periods while maintaining quality and presentation
- Following recipes, specifications and portion controls consistently
- Supporting daily preparation and ensuring appropriate par levels are maintained
- Checking food quality, freshness and presentation throughout the day
- Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen organisation
- Following HACCP, allergen, food safety and health & safety procedures
- Supporting stock rotation, date labelling and correct food storage
- Helping control food waste through sensible preparation and portion management
- Assisting with deliveries, stock control and accurate recording where required
- Working closely with the Head Chef, Sous Chef and wider kitchen team
- Supporting junior members of the team and sharing your knowledge and experience
- Contributing ideas for specials, seasonal dishes and improvements
- Helping create a positive, respectful and professional kitchen culture
Who We’re Looking For
We’re not simply looking for someone who can cook.
We’re looking for a chef who cares.
Someone who notices the details, takes pride in sending out a great plate of food and understands that consistency matters just as much on a quiet Tuesday as it does during a packed weekend service.
You’ll ideally have previous experience within a busy kitchen and be comfortable working at Chef de Partie level. More importantly, you’ll bring a positive attitude, reliability, good organisation and a genuine passion for food.
You should be someone who enjoys being part of a team, is willing to get stuck in when needed and wants to keep developing as a chef.
Why Join Us?
Daytime hours. No late-night finishes.
Christmas Day off. Boxing Day off. New Year’s Day off. Easter Sunday off.
You can build your career in a busy professional kitchen while still having something that can be surprisingly difficult to find in hospitality — a life outside of work.
Add to that a varied menu, a busy restaurant, opportunities to develop and a team that takes pride in what it produces, and this is a chef role genuinely worth considering.
Ready for Something Different?
If you’re a talented Chef de Partie who still loves the buzz of a kitchen but would like to swap the late nights for daytime hours, quality food and a better work-life balance, we’d love to hear from you.
Apply today and come and cook with us at Fosseway Garden Centre.
