Contracts / Project Manager – Construction

Diamond Construction (NW) Ltd is looking for an experienced and highly organised Contracts / Project Manager to join our growing construction team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who has previously worked on construction sites and has the knowledge, confidence and leadership skills to manage projects from initial planning through to successful completion.
The successful candidate will oversee multiple construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. You will work closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, site teams and senior management throughout the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage construction projects from pre-construction and mobilisation through to handover and final completion.
· Plan and manage programmes of work, project schedules, labour, materials, plant and subcontractors.
· Attend sites regularly and oversee day-to-day project progress.
· Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to a high standard.
· Monitor progress against agreed programmes and resolve delays, risks or site issues promptly.
· Liaise professionally with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal team members.
· Obtain and review quotations, manage project costs and control variations.
· Monitor budgets and project performance to protect commercial outcomes and profitability.
· Manage subcontractor performance, quality, productivity and deadlines.
· Prepare project updates, cost reports, forecasts and progress reports for senior management.
· Organise and attend client, site and progress meetings.
· Ensure all work complies with current health and safety legislation and company procedures.
· Maintain accurate project records, documentation and communication throughout each project.
· Support projects through snagging, handover and final account stages.
Essential Requirements
· Previous experience working on construction sites.
· Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Project Manager, Site Manager or in a similar construction management role.
· Demonstrable ability to manage construction projects from start to finish.
· Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and project management.
· Good understanding of construction health and safety requirements.
· Experience managing subcontractors, labour, materials and suppliers.
· Strong commercial awareness, including budget and cost control.
· Excellent organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
· Confident communication skills when dealing with clients and site teams.
· Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
· Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and project-management systems.
· Full, clean UK driving licence.
· Own reliable vehicle suitable for travelling between sites and attending client meetings.
