Job Description:
Donington Park Farmhouse is a family-run Wedding & Events Venue and 20-bedroom Hotel in the East Midlands Countryside. We’re looking for an experienced Sous Chef with a fresh food background to join our small team & lead the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef.

- A passionate, skilled & experienced fresh-food chef, preferably with banqueting experience.
- Confidence in overseeing a small team & experience overseeing service.
- Happy to work evenings and weekends, with days off in the week
- Own car & commutable distance essential (no bus route, no live-in)

More about the role
Our small team covers hotel breakfast (20 bedrooms), hotel dining and event banqueting, in our two venues, the Barn and the Stackyard. Aside from Weddings and Private Events, we put on our own festivals and ticketed events, and we open for Sunday Lunches through the winter months.
We produce quality food that looks and tastes delicious, akin to a gastro pub. Wedding catering and banqueting is the kitchen’s primary focus, with 3 or more weddings per week in the busy season, generally having a 3-course sit down meal and something lighter in the evening like a Hog Roast or Buffet. We are the exclusive caterer for the venue and like to offer diverse and exciting food crowd-pleasers. Presentation & taste are key.
We do not open as a restaurant to the public, so our services are predicable, and we are able to be highly organised and prepared.
Shift pattern
42 hours per week. Varied times but most shifts will be something like 12-10pm.
Shifts are on a rota, released 2 weeks or more in advance.
We’re busiest Thursday to Sunday so days off are in the week.
Pay: £35,000.00 per year
